Five propane tanks that look like this were recently stolen from the South Cariboo Recreation Center at 100 Mile House, and local businesses are being asked to keep an eye out for anyone trying to fill one.

Police say five unique propane tanks that the Zamboni need to operate in the arena at 100 Mile House have been stolen and local business owners are asked to keep an eye out.

Sometime between Sunday and Tuesday, Mounties said five 30-pound propane tanks were stolen from the South Cariboo Recreation Center on Wrangler Way at 100 Mile House.

“These tanks are necessary to operate the Zamboni for ice renewal,” RCMP Cpl. Jason Nash said in a press release that included a photo showing what the stolen tanks look like.

“Local businesses are encouraged to contact the police if they suspect someone is in possession of a tank trying to refill it.”

Anyone with information can call 100 Mile House Mounties at 250-395-2456 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
