Scott Energy celebrates 75 years in the oil business in Gloucester

Scott Energy, a Gloucester-based home heating and cooling provider, recently celebrated its 75th anniversary.

When it was founded in the spring of 1946, the company – then called Scott Oil Co. – consisted of a man and his oil truck. During Ed Scott Sr.’s first fiscal year, he shipped 50,000 gallons and performed the service from the trunk of his car.

All these years later, Scott Energy Co. has remained in the hands of the Scott family. Although there have been some changes in the three quarters of a century since its inception, such as the name of the company, Bill and Ed Jr., the sons of Ed Sr., have kept the priorities and driving mission of the company exactly the same.

Scott Energy distinguishes itself through the high quality of its customer service and support and is also an industry leader in product and system innovations. One example of this is the support for environmentally friendly Bioheat heating oil for private households.

It is also an active member of the communities it serves and regularly supports a variety of nonprofits, nonprofits, and community groups.

Bill’s sons, Adam and Taylor, continue the tradition of family-quality service and have taken on leadership positions within the company and are its future leaders.

“We are all proud of how far Scott Energy has come over the past 75 years,” said Bill Scott, Scott Energy Co. “A lot has changed, but the focus here is the same: superior service. We are still Striving to build strong and lasting relationships, gain and maintain trust, and go the extra mile for our customers. “
