Scammers pretend to be calling on behalf of Chesterfield Borough Council to trick residents with fake boiler scheme

Chesterfield Borough Council posted a post on Twitter this morning (Wednesday, July 14) warning people of fraudulent calls made by people purporting to be calling on behalf of the local authority.

The local authority said residents reportedly received calls from a company claiming to work for the council about a government program for gas boilers or insulation.

Chesterfield City Council reminded people that they will be contacted directly if they have applied for Green Homes Grant funding.
